Lamina means leaf in Latin. It is the method made by thinning only the anterior surfaces of the teeth 0.3-0.7mm without cutting and the healthy tooth tissue is lost the least. This is the process of bonding porcelain dental laminates to the thinned area. It can be a cosmetic alternative in highly discoloured teeth that cannot produce results with whitening, , teeth with bad structural form and shape, joining discrete teeth (diastema closure), restoration of broken or worn teeth, correction of old fillings with discoloured and deconstructed and also repair of crooked teeth (as an orthodontic treatment alternative).
